Afrobeat Artist Princess Wonda’s New Single “Bank Stops” is Taking the Industry by Storm
South London Based Nigerian Afro-Pop musical artist Princess Wonda new single Bank Stops has been getting the Afrobeat loving musical audience talking. A song which gives you the blend of rich latino vibes and African lyrics. Not every day we get to see both continents come together in a single song. With over 100k viewers on youtube within the first week of release it is no doubt that Princess Wonda is slowly becoming a fan favorite in the UK and as well to afrobeats lovers. The Afro-Latino song was written by Princess Wonda and produced by “Damibones” who was also the production brain behind her debut single “City Boy”.
Speaking about the single “Bank Stops” Princess Wonda says, “I have been a big fan of Latin music since I was a child, there’s just something about their combination of strings, brass and percussion”. It can be best explained as a melting pot of Afro-hip hop and Latin rap style of music. Marrying the various genres will bring something fresh and vibrant to Afrobeat.
Bank Stops was influenced by the empowered women who emulates confidence through her finances, self-worth and sex appeal. She is the girl who has fun unapologetically, stays ‘drama free’ and focuses on taking active steps to building her career and or dreams. For Princess, it is imperative for women to see themselves as game changers and masters of their own destiny.
Princess’s music journey began in her church choir, where she had the opportunity to learn from and sing with industry artists. She has over 12 years’ experience as a backing vocalist, working with Grammy award winners such as Israel Houghton, MOBO award winner Dappy. She was also featured on BET for doing a group single geared towards raising money during the Haiti crisis at Abbey Road Studios. Her debut single ‘City Boy’ has had major success across Africa and the United States, spanning over 30,000 streams across platforms and over 170,000 videos views on YouTube released on the 14th February 2020.
Bank Stops is the second single from Princess’ EP which will be released in 2021.
