Asisat Oshoala Gets Nominated for Ballon d’Or Award
Super Falcons and Barcelona Women’s team forward player, Asisat Oshoala has been nominated for the Women’s Ballon d’Or player of the year award.
The Nigerian was nominated for the award because of her exploits with Barcelona during the just concluded 2021/22 football season. Oshoala was given the award for the highest goal scorer in the league and she is a huge favourite for the award.
Oshoala was recently named CAF Women’s player of the year for a record-breaking time. She is the first person to win the CAF award five times. If she wins the award she will become the first Nigerian to be crowned a Ballon d’Or winner
Other players who were nominated for the Women’s Ballon d’Or award include Chelsea’s Mille Bright, USA’s Alex Morgan, the France quatet of Selma Bacha, Kadidiatou Diani, Wendie Renard and Marie Katoto, amongst others.
