British Prime Minister, Theresa May Reacts To President Buhari’s Re-election
British Prime Minister Theresa May has joined other world leaders in congratulating Muhammadu Buhari on his re-election as Nigeria’s president.
Spokesman for the Nigerian leader Femi Adesina said on Friday that May and her Turkish counterpart, President Tayyip Erdogan, called to congratulate Buhari.
The United States, China and Russia had earlier congratulated Buhari on his re-election for another four-year tenure.
The Nigerian leader, who vied for re-election on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), polled 15,191,847 votes to defeat Atiku Abubaka of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The former vice president got 11,262,978 votes.
