Chris Tucker & Jackie Chan Confirm They’re Working On A New Rush Hour Movie

Last year, in an interview with the Cruz Show, Jackie Chan said a Rush Hour revival could be in the pipeline, although nothing materialized and no more was said about it.

Now, however, Chris Tucker seems to have confirmed the news, claiming a reboot of the 90s martial arts cop-buddy-drama is “happening” – and it will be the “rush of all rushes”.

The American comedian, who plays LAPD Detective James Carter, unveiled details of the project in a recent discussion with ESPN and the Undefeated’s The Plug podcast.

During the show, Tucker was asked if he and Chan (Hong Kong Detective Inspector Lee) would ever team up again for another Rush Hour film.

“It’s happening,” he said, “This is gonna be the rush of all rushes.”

“Jackie is ready and we want to do this so that people don’t ever forget it,” he added.

As Chan himself explained in an interview from October 2017: “For the last seven years, we’ve been turning down the script, turning down the script [but] yesterday, we agreed.”

The Hong Kong stuntman and actor, who was on air promoting his latest film (The Foreigner with Pierce Brosnan), said that a first draft of the script had been approved.

He claimed a second draft of the story may ready sometime this year, at which point filming will start.
