Davido’s Aide, Isreal Afeare Apologises To DJ Cuppy, Retracts Libellous Statement

Isreal Afeare, personal logistics manager to singer, Davido, has taken to this Instagram page to apologise to musician, DJ Cuppy over a libellous statement he made about her last month.

His apology comes less than a day after DJ Cuppy’s lawyers, Babajide Koku & Co. served him a legal notice demanding a public apology from him over his claim that Zlatan did not receive any remuneration from their collaborative song, Gelato despite the commercial success.

Afeare also alleged that Cuppy took the singer to Abuja for her fundraising event where she made billions of Naira but did not compensate Zlatan.

In response to his allegations, DJ Cuppy said she did not breach any contractual agreement regarding the song Gelato with Zlatan and threatened to sue Afeare over his allegations.

Apart from demanding a public apology, Cuppy also demanded a public withdrawal of his statement and a letter of undertaking to cease and desist from publishing these allegations or similar allegations.

Afeare, in a 40-seconds video shared on his Instagram page on Thursday evening, has now gone ahead to apologise to DJ Cuppy and retract his statement.

He said;

My name is Afeare Isreal. I want to apologise to you, DJ Cuppy for my last [since-deleted Instagram] post between you and Zlatan issue. I am very sorry for the embarrassment it has caused you, your person and your family. I want to say please don’t be offended, please don’t be offended. It will never happen again.

I’m hereby retracting that statement. I am sorry, it’s false. It was actually what I heard. Please don’t be offended, please. We’ve been good friends for many years, including your dad [Billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola]. But please don’t be offended, Cuppy please. Thank you very much.
