Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke has completed a permanent move to Bournemouth worth £19m plus add-ons.

Solanke, 21, underwent a medical on the south coast on Friday before completing the formalities of his departure from Anfield.

Dominic Solanke joined Liverpool in  May 2017 after running down his contract at Chelsea

He made 27 appearances in his first season at Anfield, with his only goal coming on the last day of the season as Brighton were beaten 4-0.

But opportunities have been harder to come by this season due to the return to fitness of Daniel Sturridge and he has failed to make a single first-team appearance this season

Solanke had been wanted by Crystal Palace on loan before that move fell through. But having agreed to allow Jermain Defoe to join Rangers on loan, Eddie Howe has acted quickly to snap up the England Under-21 striker…

“Dominic is technically gifted, very athletic and has the physical profile that will give us something different in our front line,” said Howe. “He has done very well for England at various age groups, has a huge amount of potential and I’m really excited about working with him.”

Meanwhile, Nathaniel Clyne is expected to follow Solanke to the Vitality Stadium from Merseyside in the coming days after he agreed a six-month loan deal.
