Dr Dre Hospitalized After Suffering Brain Aneurysm

American music mogul, Dr Dre suffered brain aneurysm on Monday January 4 and is currently receiving treatment at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

A brain aneurysm is a bulge that forms in the blood vessel of your brain that could lead to a leak or rupture, causing bleeding into the brain (hemorrhagic stroke).

The rapper and producer whose real name is Andre Young, was reportedly rushed by ambulance to the medical center’s intensive care unit on Monday. Though TMZ reported that Dr Dre was “stable and lucid,” further details of his condition were not given.

Peter Paterno, an attorney for Dr Dre, later confirmed to NBC News that the music producer was hospitalized on Monday and is being treated for a brain aneurysm.

However, giving an update about his health status late Tuesday, the 55-year-old issued a statement addressed to his friends, family and fans on his Instagram page.

The rapper posted a message of thanks from his bed at the intensive care unit, saying he is going great and receiving excellent care from his medical team.

Dr Dre wrote;

Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes. I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!
