Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has on Tuesday declared Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) National President, Comrade Ayuba Wabba and other leaders of the union wanted over the strike action embarked upon by workers in the state.

Recall that NLC began the strike yesterday, promising to continue until the state government attends to the workers grievances.

Some of the grievances include the recent sack of 7,000 local government workers and refusal of the state government to settle the entitlements of about 50,000 workers it disengaged from service from 2017 to date.

Wabba had during the flag-off of the action on Monday said that it would run its full course unless the state government attended to the workers grievances.

The workers also grounded all economic activities in the state with the state m thrown into darkness by electricity workers union, supply of petroleum product cut by Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) and aviation and railway workers also shut Kaduna International Airport and Kaduna-Abuja train service.

El-Rufai, who earlier described the five-day warning strike as a campaign against the state’s economy and social sabotage, promised to reward anyone with information on Ayuba’s whereabouts.

Speaking via his verified Twitter page on Tuesday, the Governor declared the labour leaders wanted for ‘economic sabotage & attacks on public infrastructure under Miscellaneous Offences Act.’

He stated;

KADUNA UPDATE: Ayuba Wabba & others of @NLCHeadquarters declared wanted for economic sabotage & attacks on public infrastructure under Miscellaneous Offences Act. Anyone that knows where he is hiding should send a message to @MOJKaduna. KDSG. There will be a handsome reward!
