The France Football Federation (FFF) has appointed the former head coach of Morocco, Zambia, and Ivory Coast, Herve Renard, as the head coach of France’s women’s team.
The FFF appointed Herve Renard to manage the women’s team after laying off Corinne Diacre who some players of the team protested against and said they won’t represent the country under her leadership.
This means that Renard will lead the France women’s team to the Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand which will commence on July 20 and end on August 20.

Renard who has coached over 13 teams before now resigned from Saudi Arabia’s men’s team after leading the country to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

According to Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) on Tuesday, Renard asked the football authority to put an end to his contract in anticipation of the women’s team job.

Herve Renard, 54-year-old, who was a defender during his playing days made his name in the coaching world when he led Zambia to win the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations and COSAFA Cup in 2013.
He went on to become the first head coach to lead two different countries to win the AFCON when he won the title with Ivory Coast in 2015.

Afterward, Renard went on to coach Lille in France before he returned to Africa to coach Morocco between 2016 and 2019.

During his spell in Africa, the Frenchman won CAF coach of the year in 2012, 2015, and 2018.
After his amazing run in Africa, he went to Asia to lead Saudi Arabia to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and became the country’s first foreign coach to award the country 18 wins.
In Qatar, Herve Renard inspired Saudi Arabia to beat Argentina 2-1 in their opening FIFA World Cup, a result that shook the football world. Despite that, Argentina went on to win the title and Saudi Arabia were beaten out of the group stage after suffering defeats at the hands of Poland and Mexico.
