Ajansspor claims that the only thing left to agree on is a transfer fee with Manchester United. Fellaini has never been very popular with fans during his time at Old Trafford. A 2013 signing, his £27.5m transfer fee was ridiculed then.
Time hasn’t been very kind to that fee but Fellaini has been a useful player during his time at United.
Certainly, both Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho found uses for him. He would so often be Van Gaal’s Plan B. When United were chasing a result, their tactics would focus on lumping the ball up to the big target man. It wielded results and Fellaini played the best football of his United spell at the end of the 2014/15 season.
Mourinho loves big powerful players and valued Fellaini’s disruptive presence on the pitch last season.
He’s been linked with a switch to Turkey for some time now. With less than a year left on his contract and United looking to bring in Nemanja Matic, it looks as though Fellaini could be finally set to move on
