FIFA Rejects Ghana’s Plea To Replay 2018 World Cup qualifier against Uganda
FIFA Says It Wont Listen To The Ghanaian FA’s Plea to Replay the 2018 World Cup qualifying match at Uganda last weekend.
The Ghanaian Football Association Sent a Letter To FIFA called for the 0-0 draw to be replayed and also protested about the officiating of South African referee Daniel Bennett and his assistants from Seychelles.
The Ghanians Believe their two goals were disallowed for incorrect offside decisions. Replays also suggested a stoppage-time goal should have counted.
The Black Stars’ failure to win, meant Egypt clinched the sole ticket from the group, after they beat Republic of Congo 2-1 the next day.
FIFA says “no proceedings will be opened around the World Cup qualifier match Uganda vs. Ghana.”
