Mario Balotelli Signs New Deal With Nice
MARIO BALOTELLI has announced he has signed a new deal with Ligue 1 club Nice.
The Maverick Italian striker scored 17 goals in 28 games to help the club reach the qualifying round of next season’s Champions League.
It was the first time the 26-year-old managed to score 15 goals in a league campaign, while in true Balotelli fashion, he once again carried on his bad boy reputation.
He was sent off a whopping three times in his debut season in France, as well as being booked five times as his side finished in third place – 17 points behind champions Monaco.
In an official club statement, Nice said: “Mario Balotelli will still be at OGC Nice in 2017-18. The Italian signed his contract Sunday night.
“Despite the solicitations, the Italian international has made considerable financial efforts to continue, as he always intended during this offseason, the Nicoise adventure, favoring the sporting aspect, and the choice of the heart.
“Proud to have convinced the superstar last year and to have seen him flourish on and off the field.”
