NCDC Announces 418 New COVID-19 Cases, 240 Discharged, 3 Casualties
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 418 new cases of coronavirus, 240 recoveries and 3 deaths on Sunday, December 13.
The health agency made the announcement via its official twitter handle with the cases detected in 16 states and FCT.
The breakdown of the new cases is as follows; Lagos-113, FCT-86, Abia-47, Kaduna-39, Rivers-27, Katsina-22, Benue-14, Oyo-13, Kano-12, Enugu-8, Edo-7, Imo-7, Bauchi-6, Ebonyi-6, Ogun-6, Ondo-4 and Nasarawa-1.

At least 18 Nigerian Army Generals have tested positive for COVID-19, military sources said on Sunday, December 13.
The infected military officers, according to Channels Television, were said to have had contact with the late Maj. Gen. Olu Irefin who died from COVID-19 complications last week.

Our discharges today include 74 community recoveries in Kaduna State, 49 in Lagos State, 29 in Abia State and 20 in Plateau State managed in line with guidelines.

It would be recalled that on Saturday, Nigeria recorded 72,757 coronavirus cases, 65,850 discharged and 1,194 deaths.
With the newly recorded toll, there are now 73,175 total cases, 66,090 discharged and 1,197 fatalities across the country.
Also, Nigeria has so far tested over 800,000 of its 200 million population for the virus.
In other news, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha and his wife, Olu have gone into self-isolation after some members of their household tested positive for COVID-19.
Mustapha, who is also the chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, made this known in a statement on Sunday.
He said they took the COVID-19 test immediately after it was discovered that members of his household had been infected but he and his wife tested negative.
