Nigeria vs Cape Verde Will Be Played Without Fans



The Super Eagles’ FIFA World Cup qualifier against Cape Verde will be played behind closed doors because of the coronavirus. The game is to be played on Tuesday, September 7th, 2021. This will be the second game in five days for both teams.

According to reports from Complete Sports on Sunday, September 5th, 2021. The body controlling football in Africa, CAF wrote to the Cape Verdean football association, notifying them that the game is to be played without fans.

The West African country is one country on the continent that the Covid-19 pandemic has badly affected. This is the reason fans will not be allowed into the Aderito Sena Municipal Stadium in Mindelo, the venue of the game.

Cape Verde is coming into the game with a point following their 1-1 draw in the game against the Central African Republic. The Super Eagles will hope to get their second win of the group following their 2-0 victory against Liberia.

This game is the first competitive meeting between Cape Verde and Nigeria.
