Olumide Oworu: APC Denies Sponsoring Thugs To Attack LP Candidate, Supporters

The All Progressives Congress, (APC) Lagos chapter, has debunked sponsoring the attack on Labour Party (LP) supporters and House of Assembly, candidate for Surulere Constituency 1, Olumide Oworu.

The 28-year-old actor cum politician narrowly escaped unhurt when some unidentified hoodlums suspected to be political thugs reportedly attacked his team during a campaign walk of the LP on Tuesday, March 14th, 2023 in the Surulere area of the state.

Speaking about the incident, the 28-year-old via his verified Twitter handle disclosed that some members of his team sustained an injury during the attack.

He further assured his supporters that he will not be deterred, but rather will be more committed to seeing through the campaign.

However, some LP supporters claimed that the miscreants were allegedly sponsored by APC in the state.

Speaking with Vanguard on the incident, the APC Publicity Secretary, in Lagos, Seye Oladejo, described the report as untrue.

According to Oladejo, the party is unaware of any attack by APC members on LP supporters in Lagos State.

He said: “Not true. Perhaps the opposition parties should also be mindful of the fact that campaigns officially end in a few hours.

“Hopefully all these lies and propaganda will end then. We are not aware of any attack by APC members on LP supporters in Lagos.”
