Paul Pogba Speaks About Penalty Controversy With Alexis Sanchez

Manchester United beat Leicester 2-1 in the opening match of the new Premier League season with Pogba scoring the opening goal.

Paul Pogba scored in just the second minute after Sanchez’s cross was handled by Daniel Armartey in the box.

Pogba was seen talking through spot-kick duties with Alexis Sanchez, who seemed irked at his captain’s decision.

But the midfielder has now revealed that United do not actually have a penalty taker and he thought he was the right man to dispatch the ball into the net.

“I didn’t have any pre-season games, I came back on Monday so it was very hard for the legs. We played very well, the performance was OK. We want to go up.

“We don’t have a penalty taker, it’s how we feel and I decided to take it. Maybe on the next game I leave it to Alexis.

“Fred is a very good player, he will help us. I feel comfortable with him.

“Winning the World Cup is in the past. I like challenges, I want to progress and win more trophies.
