Once completed, it would be the biggest transfer fee for a player eclipsing the £89m fee paid by Manchester United for Paul Pogba last summer.

According to the reports, Mbappé, 18, would sign a six-year deal at the Santiago Bernabeu where he would earn nearly £200k per week after tax.
A breakdown of the transfer shows the reigning European champions would pay €160m plus another €20m in performance-related bonuses for the highly sought after French forward.

Monaco are reportedly holding out for €190m and had threatened to report Mbappé’s suitors to Fifa for unauthorised contact with the player, but Real President Florentino Perez sat down with the Ligue 1 champions last week and expressed his desire to make the player his next Galactico.

Los Blancos emerged as the main destination for the highly-rated attacker despite initial interests from Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Barcelona.

Mbappé had initially stalled over playing time at the Bernabeu, but the departure of Alvaro Morata eased his fears as he gets set to work under French legend Zinedine Zidane.

The youngster is considered a longtime replacement for wantaway forward Cristiano Ronaldo who is set to depart the club in the summer of 2018.
