British-Mauritian artiste, Lavaud has featured Nigerian pop star, Reekado Banks on a new single dubbed ‘OH MY’.

The two first worked together on the remix of Reekado’s 2019 hit, RORA. On the newly-release single, they mix the best parts of both western and African undertones, to deliver a love-tinged ethos of self-expression.
Lavaud knows precisely what she wants to say. After years of voyaging across the world and soaking up diverse cultures while sharpening her pen and voice via collaborations with gifted songwriters and producers, the Hackney-born Mauritian singer is finally ready to share her wispy message of self-worth and confidence with her expanding nexus of listeners and followers. 2020’s
“In My Room” showed her knack for creating the neo-R&B of want and luster that has become a norm.
“Oh My, “ Lavaud’s first song of 2021, sees the singer push her art into newer boundaries, linking with Nigerian afro pop act, Reekado Banks, for a hushed jam that reprises the low-key energy of their previous collaboration a remix of Reekado’s 2019 hit, RORA. With her dipping into afro pop and interspersing the song’s lyrics with creole and spatterings of pidgin, Lavaud proves her diversity and grounding in the music of the continent.
Reekado Banks delivers a suave verse that is tonally in sync with the sensual feel of “Oh My” as the duo complement each other perfectly over the tempered beat that allows their voices stand out.
Lavaud closes things out with supreme confidence as she continues to set the pace expertly ahead of the release of her debut project, King Vaud.
