Salah equals Suarez’s Liverpool record & breaks Fowler’s best
Liverpool Winger, Mohamed Salah on Saturday equaled former Reds striker, Luis Suarez’s goal scoring record with his 31st strike of the season.
The Egyptian international scored a goal against West Ham in the Premier League at Anfield, to ensured he now has an identical record to that exceptional final season from Suarez in 2013-14 — 37 games, 31 goals.
The winger has reached that level quicker than Suarez because Salah’s Liverpool are competing on more fronts, including a tilt at the Champions League.
The game against West Ham ended 4-1 in favour of Liverpool, to move them into second place in the Premier League table with 57 points, one more than Manchester United in third place.
Meanwhile, Salah also broke another record against the London club. The 25-year-old now has 20 goals with his left foot in the Premier League, breaking Robbie Fowler’s best of 19 in 1994-95.
The African footballer of the year, who will be leading the Pharaohs to the World cup in Russia, remains a serious contender in the league of record breakers.
