Ogbaji Godwin, known as SPENDER, is an independent South African/Nigerian Trap and Hip Hop artist. Born and raised in Nigeria Spender now permanently resides in South Africa, Johannesburg.

His musical interests and passion for the craft began at the young age of 14, with dreams of becoming a household name. Although still fairly new to industry Spender has had the pleasure on featuring on music playlisted on some of Africa’s biggest music channels, such as Trace Africa, MTV and Channel O.

In late 2016 the rapper tested the waters by releasing a song for listening purposes titled “DollarBill”. To his surprise the song became very popular on iTunes and people’s reaction’s was a clear indication that he was well on his way to becoming a well-known artist

In celebration of Africa month the rapper and producer released his new single “II For The Night”, in May 2017. The song is a feel good track inspired by the good life and celebrating being young and gifted. “II For The Night” is the first single taken out of Spender’s debut album due for release during the course of 2017. Spender’s debut album promises to feature some of SA’s biggest names in Hip Hop, all to be revealed in due course‎
