“We Have Not Recorded Any Fatality” – Says Gov. Sanwo-olu Despite Live Videos
The governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-olu has shared an update on the mass shooting at the Lekki tollgate area of Lagos state that left many injured.
The shootout that started in the late evening of Tuesday 2oth October at the Lekki tollgate following an imposed curfew in the state left no fewer than 50 injured and a yet to be known numbers of protesters dead as seen in bloody live videos shared on the internet.
Contrary to video evidence, Sanwo-olu however affirmed that ‘we have not recorded any fatality’ after touring hospitals attending to victims of the shooting that was allegedly orchestrated by the Nigerian Army.
“We’re comforted that we have not recorded any fatality as against the widespread circulation on social media.
“We have been going round to all the hospitals and mortuaries last night to see for ourselves what has happened,” the governor said during the televised address.
