Westbrook Tests Positive for COVID-19, Harden Allegedly COVID-19 Positive
Houston Rockets superstar Russell Westbrook announced on Monday that he tested positive for COVID-19 via Twitter. “I tested positive for Covid-19 prior to my team’s departure to Orlando,” he wrote. “I’m currently feeling well, quarantined, and looking forward to rejoining my teammates when I am cleared. Thank you all for the well wishes and continued support. Please take the virus seriously. Be safe. Mask up. #whynot”
Along with Westbrook, his MVP teammate James Harden didn’t accompany the team in Orlando leaving many to speculate that he has tested positive for coronavirus as well. Harden opted to stay back just days before the team traveled to Disney World suggesting that he too is self-quarantining.
The Rockets are slated to play the Dallas Mavericks on August 1 but will do so without their two biggest stars. The NBA will also feel the absence as they have to stage an already questionable resumption with two of their must-see players sitting in quarantine.
