Why Jamie Vardy Is Wearing Cristiano Ronaldo’s Boots ?

Jamie Vardy has been buying his own boots following a disagreement with sponsors Nike. The England man, who scored in Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw with Italy, split his usual pair in Leicester City’s 2-1 defeat at Everton on January 31.

It is understood that Nike wanted to replace them with a new style of boot, which the 31-year-old is not thought to be a fan of.
Instead, Vardy nipped to a local sports store, put his hand in his pocket and bought a pair of CR7s – the boot inspired by Cristiano Ronaldo.

The switch saw the Foxes’ man, who has since bought more pairs of CR7s, score three times in consecutive games and six times in nine matches. His fierce effort into the roof of the Italians’ net at Wembley also came from his new boots.

And it is understood Vardy, whose contract with Nike is set to expire at the end of the season, will keep wearing the CR7s until further notice. Following Leicester’s stunning title success in 2016, Nike introduced the Vahrez boot, in honour of Vardy and winger Riyad Mahrez.
