Christian Eriksen has firmly put to rest the widespread speculation about his future, confirming that he never considered ending his career. The Danish international, who recently signed with Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg, stated his enduring passion for the game and his excitement for the next phase of his footballing journey.

“I never had any consideration to end my career. I still have a lot of football to play,” Eriksen said in an interview with Viaplay. “I love to play. My football adventure is nowhere near the ending now.”

The move to Wolfsburg comes after a period of uncertainty following his departure from Manchester United at the end of the last season. The midfielder’s time without a club led to a flurry of rumors among fans and experts, but Eriksen has now definitively addressed the matter. His new contract, which was officially signed on September 10, runs until 2027.

During his time as a free agent, Eriksen kept his fitness sharp by training with his former club, Malmö FF. He clarified that this was a personal decision driven by a desire to “get out and touch a ball,” rather than a public relations move to counter the speculation about his career.

Eriksen is expected to make his debut for Wolfsburg on Sunday in a highly anticipated Bundesliga match against Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park. The fixture promises to be a challenging but exciting start for the playmaker as he begins his first adventure in the German top flight.
