Galatasaray recorded a massive 3-1 victory over Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) on Tuesday, powered by a clinical brace from star striker Victor Osimhen. The victory is a landmark moment for the Turkish side, marking the first time they have secured back-to-back European main-draw victories in what was only their second win in their last 18 such matches.

The result continues Galatasaray’s impressive form across all competitions, extending their recent run to 21 wins from their last 23 matches.

Osimhen Strikes Early and Capitalizes on Errors

The match exploded into life just three minutes into the proceedings, giving the vociferous home crowd at RamsPark an immediate reason to erupt. Mario Lemina slid the ball through to Osimhen, who beat goalkeeper Nikita Haikin with a clinical finish to open the scoring.

The Nigerian striker continued to threaten the visitors’ goal, connecting with two crosses from Leroy Sané only to be denied by the alert Haikin.

Bodo/Glimt’s struggle was compounded in the 33rd minute when a moment of lax defense gifted Osimhen his second. Fredrik André Bjørkan played a poorly weighted backpass, which Osimhen instantly pounced on. He skillfully rounded Haikin and slotted the ball into the empty net .

Bodo/Glimt’s Response Too Little, Too Late

Though the visitors had their own moments—notably when Sondre Brunstad Fet struck the post from range after a chance created by Roland Sallai—they failed to seriously test goalkeeper Uğurcan Cakır for much of the game.

The nail in Bodo/Glimt’s coffin came in the second half when Haitam Aleesami was dispossessed by Osimhen on the edge of the box. This turnover led directly to the third goal, finished by Yunus Akgun at the second attempt.

Bodo/Glimt finally managed a consolation goal in the 76th minute, with Andreas Helmersen heading home a cross from Bjørkan.

The final whistle confirmed the 3-1 scoreline, ending Bodo/Glimt’s five-game unbeaten streak in European league phase matches and leaving the Norwegian side stuck on just two points in the standings. Galatasaray, meanwhile, continues its powerful response to a heavy defeat suffered on the opening day of the UCL league phase.
