President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged Nigerians to remain calm and resilient in the face of recent security challenges, assuring the nation that his administration is fully committed to defeating insurgency and restoring lasting peace.

Speaking during an interfaith breaking of fast with members of the Armed Forces and security agencies at the State House in Abuja, the President condemned the latest wave of violence in the North-East. He specifically addressed the heartless raid in Ngoshe, where several residents were reportedly abducted, labeling it an assault on “hapless citizens.” Despite these setbacks, the President remained firm in his resolve, declaring, “We will win. Nigeria will prevail.”

The President confirmed he has been in direct contact with Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, to express his profound sympathy and solidarity. Beyond Ngoshe, other communities including Konduga, Marte, Jakana, and Mainok have reportedly felt the impact of these recent incursions. President Tinubu shared his condolences with the Vice President and the people of Borno, emphasizing that the pain of these incidents is felt across the entire country.

During the address, President Tinubu commended the bravery of the military personnel who responded to the attacks. He noted that troops successfully engaged the insurgents, neutralized several attackers, and forced a retreat. To ensure the safety of those affected, the President has issued a direct mandate to security agencies to prioritize the urgent rescue of all abducted individuals and to fortify military formations to prevent further civilian targeting.

In a final tribute to the men and women on the front lines, the President praised the immense sacrifices made by the Nigerian military. He acknowledged the dangers they face and the long periods spent away from their families to ensure national stability, reaffirming that their service remains the backbone of the country’s security architecture.
