Lagos-based artist Ambali Rahmon Oluwaseyi, professionally known as Maradin, is set to usher in a new chapter of his musical journey with his forthcoming EP, Small Body Big Engine (SBBE).
Inspired by the nickname “Small Body Big Engine,” a phrase commonly used by people who know him, the project represents a new sound, a new phase, and a new beginning for Maradin.
Maradin’s musical journey dates back to 2009, when he began visiting a recording studio close to his home in Ago-Iwoye. What began as an early passion gradually developed into a committed creative journey, leading to the evolution of an artist now preparing to introduce a new chapter through SBBE.
The EP features six tracks: “Pour Me Water (Holy),” “Stamina,” “Nokia,” “One Day,” “Big Engine,” and “For Me.” Together, the records explore Maradin’s energy, experiences, ambition, and evolving approach to sound.
With Small Body Big Engine (SBBE), Maradin is not simply presenting another body of work. He is introducing listeners to a new era of his sound, identity, and artistic direction.
