After a five-year break, the Nigerian Student Fashion and Design Week (NSFDW) is set to make an exciting return. As Africa’s leading independent platform for spotlighting emerging fashion talents and entrepreneurs, this eagerly awaited event will take place in November at the esteemed Oriental Hotel in Lagos.

Under the theme “Fashion Forward,” NSFDW 2024 seeks to highlight the creativity and innovation of up-and-coming designers and fashion creatives in the industry. Attendees can look forward to runway presentations, workshops led by industry experts, and networking opportunities for aspiring designers, models, and professionals.

We are excited to reintroduce the Nigerian Student Fashion and Design Week, offering a vital platform for young, emerging Nigerian designers to showcase their creations, stated Abiola Orimolade, Founder of NSFDW. Throughout the years, weve witnessed exceptional talent emerge through this initiative, with designers like Hauwa Liman of Afrik Abaya, Bibi Lawrence, Faith Oluwajimi of BLOKE, and Vovwe Omoko of Ovem making significant strides in the fashion world. This event will not only honor the skills of these rising stars but also promote the growth of the Nigerian fashion industry, nurturing innovation and opening doors for the next generation of fashion entrepreneurs.

NSFDW 2024 will present a wide variety of designs, from haute couture to innovative contemporary streetwear. The event will also highlight current trends in fashion and design, placing a strong emphasis on sustainability and ethical practices, which are crucial for shaping the industry’s future.

In keeping with tradition, the event will honor designers with the most imaginative and inventive collections, offering them cash prizes and the chance to showcase their work at Dallas Fashion Week in 2025. This provides winners with a global stage to enhance their brands and gain international visibility.

The fashion extravaganza is set to occur from November 28 to 30, culminating in the grand finale show on November 30, 2024 at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos.
