Nigerians have been facing constant power outages despite the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) claiming it supplies 24-hour electricity to neighboring Togo and Benin. This revelation has sparked frustration and calls for accountability from the TCN.

The TCN’s Managing Director, Sule Abdulaziz, recently stated that Nigerians living in Band A areas receive around 20-22 hours of electricity daily, with neighboring countries receiving uninterrupted power. This explanation has done little to appease Nigerians struggling with inconsistent electricity.

Many Nigerians wonder why they can’t enjoy the same level of service provided to neighboring countries, especially considering their nation’s role in generating the electricity. The TCN’s comments raise questions about the efficiency of Nigeria’s power distribution network and its prioritization strategies.

This situation demands clear explanations and concrete actions from the TCN. Nigerians deserve a reliable and consistent electricity supply, and the TCN must address the current shortcomings in the national power grid.
