The driver of a Bolt ride-hailing service has issued an apology to Abia State lawmaker, Hon. Uzochukwu Okwara, after an alleged assault incident that occurred during a recent trip. The incident, which was reported to have taken place in Abuja, led to heated exchanges between the driver and the lawmaker.

According to reports, the altercation began after the lawmaker had a disagreement with the driver over the ride fare and the driver’s conduct. The situation escalated, resulting in physical confrontation. The incident quickly gained attention on social media, where video footage of the altercation circulated widely, drawing public outrage.

In a statement following the incident, the driver expressed regret over his actions and apologized to Hon. Okwara looking visibly distressed , as well as the public, for his involvement in the altercation. He acknowledged that the situation could have been handled better and pledged to ensure that such an incident would not happen again. The apology was intended to address the controversy and restore confidence in the ride-hailing service, as well as to show personal accountability for the incident.

Calling for national unity and forgiveness, he added,��Please, Nigerians, let�s forgive and forget, as it�s even contained in our Lord�s Prayer� For there is no justice without forgiveness.�
