Aston Villa’s unbeaten home run in the Champions League was ended by a 0-0 draw against Juventus. The match was a tense affair, with both sides creating limited clear-cut chances.

Villa’s hopes of a late victory were dashed when a stoppage-time goal by Morgan Rogers was controversially disallowed. The referee deemed that Diego Carlos had fouled the Juventus goalkeeper in the build-up to the goal.

Emiliano Martinez was once again the star for Villa, pulling off a stunning save to deny Francisco Conceicao in the second half. The Argentine goalkeeper’s heroics kept Villa in the game, but they ultimately couldn’t find a breakthrough.

Juventus, meanwhile, were forced to field a weakened side due to injuries and suspensions. Despite their limitations, they managed to frustrate Villa and secure a valuable point.

This draw leaves Villa in a strong position in their Champions League group, but they will need to improve their attacking output if they want to progress to the knockout stages.
