Arsenal’s Premier League title aspirations suffered another setback as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. The result leaves Arsenal vulnerable to losing further ground in the title race, while Forest’s own form continues to falter.

The match was a cagey affair from the outset, with both sides struggling to create clear-cut chances. Forest, out of form, and Arsenal, lacking a focal point in attack, produced a first half devoid of significant action. Riccardo Calafiori came closest for Arsenal, his left-footed effort striking the post after a neat turn inside the box. However, neither goalkeeper was truly tested before the break, reflecting a lack of attacking impetus from both teams.

Arsenal emerged with renewed vigor in the second half. Matz Sels made a crucial point-blank save to deny Mikel Merino’s header from a corner, and Kieran Tierney narrowly missed the target from a Martin Odegaard delivery moments later. Despite Arsenal’s sustained pressure, they failed to break the deadlock.

Forest, however, began to pose a threat on the counter-attack. Chris Wood finally tested David Raya, and William Saliba made a vital last-ditch tackle to deny Wood a one-on-one opportunity. Despite these moments, Forest lacked consistent attacking quality.

As the game wore on, neither side could find the decisive breakthrough. Arsenal’s inability to convert their pressure into goals proved costly, while Forest’s limited attacking output meant they were unable to capitalize on Arsenal’s frustrations.

The 0-0 draw leaves both teams with a sense of disappointment. Forest, despite remaining third, are seeing their top-four position increasingly threatened. Arsenal, meanwhile, face the prospect of falling further behind in the title race after a second consecutive winless outing. The result highlights Arsenal’s struggles in front of goal and their inability to break down stubborn defenses. For Forest, it’s another game without a win, adding to their recent woes.
