Sean Kingston is set to be released from federal detention after his bail was posted, following his arrest for failing to meet the conditions of his house arrest. The “Beautiful Girls” singer was taken into custody earlier on Tuesday, April 15, and held at the Federal Detention Center in Miami.

Kingston was required to post a $100,000 cash bond to remain on house arrest after he and his mother, Janice Turner, were convicted of federal wire fraud last month. While his mother was deemed a flight risk and detained, Kingston was initially allowed home detention, contingent on the bail payment.

“Mr. Kingstons bond has been posted and he is in the process of being released,” his attorney, Zeljka Bozanic, confirmed to TMZ.

Last month, Kingston and Turner were found guilty on all five counts of federal wire fraud. The 35-year-old artist reportedly became emotional upon hearing the jury’s verdict. The pair were accused of defrauding numerous victims out of luxury items, including jewelry, electronics, vehicles, and a large microLED TV, with the total value exceeding $1 million.

The indictment detailed how Kingston allegedly used his celebrity status to persuade luxury goods sellers to deliver items before receiving payment. Turner was accused of facilitating the fraudulent transactions by providing delivery dates and other details. The payments were allegedly made through fraudulent wire transfers, while Kingston retained the items.

Kingston and Turner are scheduled for sentencing on July 11 and face potential prison terms of up to 20 years.
