Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare is poised for a significant move to a top European club this summer, following a remarkable season in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League. His current club, KRC Genk, has all but confirmed the impending departure of their prolific forward, who has garnered considerable attention from elite teams across the continent.

Arokodare, 24, enjoyed a stellar campaign, finishing as the league’s top scorer with an impressive 23 goals. He also contributed seven assists across 45 appearances in all competitions, showcasing his all-around offensive prowess. Despite his individual brilliance, Genk concluded the season in third place, nine points adrift of the league title.

Speaking to Belgian outlet Het Belang van Limburg, Genk’s sporting director, Dimitri De Condé, acknowledged the strong likelihood of Arokodare’s exit. “I estimate the chance of a possible departure of our top scorer at 99%,” De Condé stated. “There is no concrete offer on the table yet, but there is a huge demand from brokers who want to act as an intermediary. From experience, I say he’s leaving. Arokodare is very well in the market and is also ready to take the next step.”

Arokodare’s consistent goal-scoring has significantly boosted his market value, and his transfer is anticipated to be one of the most notable moves out of Belgium this summer.

Meanwhile, the in-demand striker is set to represent Nigeria in the upcoming Unity Cup exhibition tournament in the United Kingdom. The Super Eagles are scheduled to face their arch-rivals Ghana’s Black Stars at the Gtech Community Stadium in London on Wednesday night.

With potential moves to European giants on the horizon and national team duties beckoning, Arokodare’s summer promises to be a period of significant transitions and exciting opportunities.
