Barcelona’s Manager, Hansi Flick, has reportedly identified Atalanta’s dynamic forward Ademola Lookman as a key transfer target for the upcoming summer window. This move signals Flick’s intent to bolster his squad with a proven goalscorer and creator.
Lookman, 27, has enjoyed a prolific spell since joining the Serie A club from RB Leipzig three years ago, accumulating an impressive record of 52 goals and 25 assists in 118 appearances. His standout moment came last year when he bagged a sensational hat-trick against an unbeaten Bayer Leverkusen side, leading La Dea to a historic Europa League triumph.
With his current contract set to expire next year, Lookman is a hot commodity in the transfer market, attracting interest from several top European clubs including Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, and Atletico Madrid, alongside Barcelona.
However, it appears Barcelona are ready to intensify their pursuit of the Nigerian international. Reports from Barca Times indicate that Flick has directly informed the club’s board of his desire to bring Lookman to Camp Nou.
Atalanta is believed to have set an asking price of €60 million for the in-form forward, a figure Barcelona will now consider as they look to make their first significant moves under their new head coach. Lookman’s versatility, goal-scoring prowess, and playmaking ability would undoubtedly provide a significant boost to Barcelona’s attacking options.
