Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola-Salako has voiced her concerns regarding the lack of youth involvement in President Bola Tinubu’s government. In a recent interview, she stated that the administration is not as “youth-oriented” as she had hoped, a vision she believed was the original plan.

Daramola-Salako argued that by excluding young people from key decision-making processes, the government is missing out on valuable ideas and a better understanding of how policies are developed. According to her, if young people were involved, they would have greater insight into the progress of government projects and could contribute fresh perspectives.

She also drew a parallel between the current administration and previous ones, highlighting that a common factor has been the removal of fuel subsidies. The actress believes this policy is a primary reason for the high cost of fuel and food, and suggests that greater youth inclusion could lead to different solutions to these ongoing economic issues.

While acknowledging that President Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu, is making efforts to engage with young people, Daramola-Salako insisted that these efforts do not equate to a truly youth-inclusive government. She concluded by stating that although she does not regret her support for the president, the current situation does not align with her expectations for youth empowerment in the administration.
