Premier League champions Liverpool have maintained their perfect start to the season after a stunning 83rd-minute free-kick from Dominik Szoboszlai was all the Reds needed to secure all three points at Anfield on Sunday. The Hungarian defender’s powerful strike from over 30 yards soared into the back of the net, with Arsenal’s goalkeeper, David Raya, diving a moment too late. The win ensures Liverpool remains at the top of the table in the early stages of the title race.

Following the game, Raya told Sky Sports that he was still getting used to the new Premier League ball, manufactured by Puma, which he claimed “moves with so much speed.” “I think it’s a hell of a strike. I remember the ball moving a lot and moving away from me,” the Spanish international said, expressing his disappointment at not being able to make the save. “With the new balls and everything, we still have to adapt. It’s going away from me so it’s harder to gauge and save it. The grip is different, the kick is different. We just have to adapt after playing with the Nike ball for many years. It’s the same for everybody.”

With this win, Liverpool, the defending champions, have taken an early lead in the title race. Meanwhile, Arsenal, who have finished second in the last three seasons—twice to Manchester City and once to Liverpool—are hoping to finally win the title this season.
