Bayern Munich has agreed a new £70.5 million deal to sign Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson on a loan with an obligation to buy, a significant development after the Blues had initially pulled out of the transfer. The fresh terms will see Bayern pay an increased loan fee of £14.25 million, up from the previously discussed £13 million, and are now obligated to buy the player for £56.25 million.

The initial agreement between the clubs included an option for a permanent move, which Chelsea later sought to change to an obligation. This shift was reportedly prompted by an injury sustained by striker Liam Delap during a match against Fulham on Saturday. The change in circumstances for Chelsea’s forward line seemingly altered their willingness to proceed with a deal that did not guarantee a permanent sale of Jackson.
