AC Milan has officially announced the signing of French midfielder Adrien Rabiot from Olympique de Marseille on transfer Deadline Day. The move comes two weeks after the 30-year-old was placed on Marseille’s transfer list following a public altercation with a teammate.

Italian media reports indicate that Rabiot has signed a three-year deal with Milan, with a reported transfer fee of 10 million euros. Rabiot and English winger Jonathan Rowe were both put up for sale by the French club for what was described as “unacceptable behavior” following a Ligue 1 loss to Stade Rennais. Rowe has since completed a transfer to Serie A side Bologna.

This transfer sets up a potential reunion and a new rivalry, as Rabiot and Rowe could find themselves on opposing sides when Milan hosts Bologna on September 14, in their first league game after the international break. At Milan, Rabiot will also be reunited with Massimiliano Allegri, his former coach at Juventus, where he played for three seasons before his move to Marseille last year. Rabiot began his career at Paris Saint-Germain, and his last goals for the French national team came in a 3-1 win against Italy at the San Siro in November 2024.
