Atletico Madrid have finally completed the signing of England midfielder Conor Gallagher from Chelsea for a reported fee of around £33 million.
Conor Gallagher who is currently 24-year-old has committed to a five-year contract with the Spanish La Liga club after a series of back and forth.
With his previous contract set to expire next summer, Chelsea opted to secure a transfer for him this summer to avoid a potential free transfer.

In a reciprocal arrangement, Atletico’s 24-year-old forward Joao Felix is expected to move to Chelsea, with the two clubs agreeing in principle on a fee for the Portuguese international.

Recall that Felix scored four goals in 20 appearances during a loan spell at Chelsea in 2023.

The delay in Gallagher’s move to Spain was linked to Chelsea’s failed negotiations to sign Atletico striker Samu Omorodion. However, the successful agreement for Felix has now enabled Atletico to finalize Gallagher’s transfer.

Gallagher’s football journey has seen loan stints at Charlton, Swansea, West Brom, and Crystal Palace before he established himself in Chelsea’s first team at the beginning of the 2022-23 season.

Conor Gallagher has earned 18 England caps since his debut in 2021 and was part of the national team for both the 2022hasld Cup and Euro 2024.oads/2024/08/Screenshot_20240821-112633.jpg” width=”629″ height=”487″ class=”alignnone size-full” />
