AC Milan advanced to the Italian Cup round of 16 on Tuesday with a decisive 3-0 victory over Lecce at the San Siro. Goals from Santiago Gimenez, Christopher Nkunku, and Christian Pulisic sealed the win for the Rossoneri.

Lecce’s challenge was made significantly more difficult when defender Jamil Siebert received a straight red card in the 18th minute for a last-man foul on Nkunku. Milan wasted no time in capitalizing on their numerical advantage, as Gimenez found the back of the net just two minutes later with a close-range finish.

Milan continued to dominate, hitting the woodwork twice through Adrien Rabiot and Ruben Loftus-Cheek before Nkunku doubled the lead in the 51st minute with an impressive acrobatic volley. Christian Pulisic, who came on as a substitute for Nkunku, made an immediate impact, scoring Milan’s third goal in the 64th minute from a Youssouf Fofana cross.

The victory sets up a third-round clash for Milan against Lazio.

In other Coppa Italia action, Cagliari progressed after a 4-1 win against Serie B side Frosinone, while Udinese defeated Palermo 2-1 at home.
