Nigeria’s carrier, Air Peace Limited, has issued a strong warning to the public regarding a fraudulent social media advertisement that falsely claims the airline is offering a 30% discount on Africa flights. The airline has categorically stated that the viral post is a scam designed to defraud unsuspecting travellers.

In a statement released on Tuesday by the airline’s spokesperson, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, Air Peace described the advert as completely unfounded and not affiliated with the company in any capacity. “Our attention has been drawn to a sponsored post circulating on social media, advertising a purported ‘30% off Africa flights’ promotion and requesting members of the public to sign up to access this offer,” the statement read. “We wish to categorically state that Air Peace Limited is not running any 30 per cent discount promotion.”

The airline emphasized that the promoters behind the fake offer are attempting to defraud individuals through deceptive posts and cloned websites. Air Peace urged the public to immediately disregard such posts and refrain from engaging with the individuals running the scheme to avoid falling victim to the fraud.

The company reiterated that it has no ongoing promotional campaign and stressed that all official communications regarding discounts, ticket sales, or partnerships are announced exclusively through its verified channels. Air Peace confirmed that it has received several reports from travelers who attempted to make bookings through these unauthorized websites that falsely claimed to be affiliated with the airline, further underscoring the urgency of the warning.
