This Saturday, Bayern Munich has the opportunity to secure their Bundesliga title as they travel to face RB Leipzig. A victory would render Bayern Leverkusen mathematically unable to catch them.

However, Bayern will be without their star striker, Harry Kane, who is suspended due to accumulating five yellow cards. Kane has been instrumental this season, leading the league with 24 goals. Bayern’s points average dips to 1.5 without him in the starting lineup, compared to 2.6 when he plays.

RB Leipzig will rely on their own in-form forward, Benjamin Sesko, who has been potent at home with eight goals and four assists. Sesko has also scored in his last two Bundesliga appearances against Bayern.

Despite Kane’s absence, Bayern boasts the talents of Michael Olise, who has shone in his debut season in Germany. Olise leads the league with 12 assists, the most by any new Bayern signing in a Bundesliga campaign since 2004/05. He also shares the league lead for goal involvements in the second half of the season, with 11.

Leipzig’s defense will face a tough challenge against Bayern’s potent attack, which has created a league-high 154 big chances. Leipzig has conceded 90 big chances, with only VfL Bochum (117) and Holstein Kiel (92) allowing more.

RB Leipzig, under interim boss Zsolt Low, is in a precarious position. With 49 points from 31 games, this is their second-worst Bundesliga season at this stage. They are only a few points ahead of Borussia Dortmund, Mainz, and Werder Bremen in the race for a Champions League spot.

History favors Bayern Munich, who have lost only one of their last 10 competitive away games against Leipzig (W4, D5). Leipzig’s heaviest Bundesliga defeat was a 5-1 loss in Munich earlier this season.

Bayern Munich has been in sensational form, losing only two of their first 31 league games (W23, D6). Their current tally of 75 points is already more than the 72 they managed in the entire 2023/24 season. Bayern also leads the league with 14 clean sheets, while RB Leipzig is second with 13.

If there are goals in this match, they are likely to come early, as both teams have conceded the joint-fewest goals (12 each) in the final 30 minutes of games. However, Bayern has scored the most goals (35) in the final 30 minutes this season, while Leipzig has only managed 10.

Leipzig’s form has dipped in the second half of the season, winning only four of their 14 games (D7, L3), a significant decline from the first half of the season.

Leipzig cannot afford to lose this match, but Bayern Munich will be aiming to secure the title. While Bayern is favored to win, Leipzig’s attacking threats, including Sesko, Xavi Simons, and Lois Openda, could capitalize on any complacency from the visitors.
