Nigerian music superstar and Grammy winner, Damini Ogulu, famously known as Burna Boy, has sent a clear message to those resistant to his evolving persona: the “old” Burna Boy is no more.

In a candid post shared on the official Instagram page dedicated to his forthcoming album, No Sign Of Weakness, Burna Boy attributed the demise of his former self to his own people, specifically “Nigerians,” claiming they “killed” the “African Giant” he once embodied.

He revealed an ongoing internal struggle, stating that the current version of himself and his past self are in constant conflict.

“The African Giant Burna Boy died. His own people killed him. Then Big 7 was born to protect what was left of Burna Boy,” he wrote.

Burna Boy further elaborated on this internal battle, adding, “Burna Boy and Big 7 fight each other a lot because while Big 7 is only protecting the final and only existing piece of Burna Boys broken heart, the African Giant still haunts Burna Boy.”

The revelation offers a glimpse into the artist’s personal journey and the pressures he feels, suggesting a complex narrative behind his creative evolution as he gears up for the release of ‘No Sign Of Weakness.’
