Clement Chinaka has emerged as the overall winner of the prestigious 2025 IBB Lady Captains Cup, concluding a thrilling week of competitive golf at the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja. The tournament, which teed off on Wednesday and wrapped up on Sunday, drew top amateur golfers from across the country and featured five days of intense action, camaraderie, and celebration of the sport.

Chinaka, who played off a handicap of 16, delivered an impressive performance on the final day of play. He recorded a gross score of 85 and a net score of 69, edging out his closest rival through countbacka tiebreaking method used in golf when players finish with identical scores. The narrow win was a testament to his resilience, skill, and strategic play, particularly in the crucial back nine where he turned the game around.
Clearly elated by his triumph, Chinaka described his victory as deeply fulfilling, emphasizing the high standard of organization and the vibrant atmosphere throughout the event. He also praised the efforts of the outgoing Lady Captain and her team, attributing much of the tournaments success to their vision and dedication.

I feel very great that I was able to achieve this and win such a well-organized tournament. It was put together by our amiable Lady Captain and her amazing team, and its truly the first-of-its-kind here at the club, Chinaka said.

The atmosphere was incredibly conducivegreat camaraderie, good energy, and an excellent flight. Though I didnt start off too well on the front nine, I decided to dig deep and improve my game on the back nine. That decision made all the difference. Im filled with joy, and I know my supporters and fellow golfers share in this excitement.
The 2025 edition of the Lady Captains Cup was more than just a golf tournamentit was a celebration of sportsmanship, friendship, and the growth of golf in Nigeria. The week-long event marked a significant milestone under the stewardship of the outgoing Lady Captain, whose leadership and organizational prowess were widely applauded by participants and spectators alike.

As the club looks ahead to future tournaments, the success of this years edition sets a high bar for whats to come. For Clement Chinaka, its a moment of personal triumph; for the IBB Golf and Country Club, its yet another reminder of its place at the heart of Nigerias vibrant golfing community.
