Cristiano Ronaldo has put an end to speculation about his future, signing a new two-year contract with Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr. The deal will see the Portugal captain remain with the Riyadh-based team until beyond his 42nd birthday, extending his tenure until June 2027.
The 40-year-old superstar, who joined Al-Nassr in December 2022 following his departure from Manchester United, confirmed the news in a post on X, stating: “A new chapter begins. Same passion, same dream. Let’s make history together.”
Ronaldo’s previous deal was set to expire at the end of June, fueling rumors of a potential exit. However, this new agreement solidifies his commitment to the Saudi club.
While Al-Nassr has yet to add to their nine domestic titles during Ronaldo’s time, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has been a prolific scorer. Last season, he netted an impressive 35 goals in 41 matches across all competitions, securing the league’s top scorer title for the second consecutive season.
Overall, Ronaldo has amassed 99 goals in 111 appearances for Al-Nassr. With a current career tally of 938 senior goals for club and country, he is now firmly on track to reach the monumental milestone of 1,000 career goals.
Fresh off helping Portugal secure the UEFA Nations League title just weeks ago, the former Manchester United, Real Madrid, Sporting, and Juventus forward is now widely expected to target a record sixth World Cup appearance next summer. His continued presence at Al-Nassr ensures his focus remains sharp as he chases further personal and international accolades.
