In a significant humanitarian initiative, the Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) has distributed 35,000 bags of rice to vulnerable families across the 23 local government areas of Kaduna State. This effort is part of the Foundations broader National Food Intervention Project, which aims to alleviate hunger and poverty nationwide.
Each of Kadunas 23 local government areas received 1,522 bags of 10-kilogram rice, ensuring equitable distribution among communities. The initiative was officially launched in Kaduna, with Governor Uba Sani, represented by his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Sani Liman Kila, commending the Foundations commitment to social welfare. He highlighted that such interventions align with the states policies on social investment, focusing on health, education, and social protection.
The rice distribution in Kaduna is a segment of ADFs expansive plan to distribute over one million bags of rice across Nigerias 774 local government areas. This nationwide initiative underscores the Foundations dedication to supporting underprivileged Nigerians during challenging economic times.
The distribution has been met with gratitude from beneficiaries, including women, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities. Many have described the gesture as a lifeline, providing much-needed relief amid economic hardships. Governor Sani assured that the distribution process would be transparent and fair, reaching those who need it most.
Representatives from the Aliko Dangote Foundation emphasized that the food intervention reflects the organizations core values of compassion, solidarity, and shared responsibility. They reiterated the Foundations commitment to supporting communities and complementing government efforts to improve the well-being of Nigerians.
