Inter Milan secured a 2-1 victory over Udinese at the San Siro, provisionally extending their lead at the top of Serie A to six points and maintaining their unbeaten home league record for the 12th consecutive game.

Following Atalanta’s loss to Fiorentina earlier in the day, Inter capitalized on the opportunity to increase the pressure on second-placed Napoli.

Inter took an early lead in the first quarter-hour. Federico Dimarco’s pass from the left flank found Marko Arnautovic, who scored.

Inter dominated the first half, and doubled their lead just before the half-hour mark. Dimarco again provided the assist, crossing for Davide Frattesi to score.

With a 2-0 lead at halftime, Inter were in a strong position, having lost only once when leading at the break since the start of the 2023/24 season.

Both teams made changes in the second half, and Inter controlled much of the play. However, Udinese’s Oumar Solet scored a long-range goal in the 71st minute, bringing the score to 2-1.

Inter manager Simone Inzaghi was shown a red card for protesting late in the game, but it did not affect the outcome. Inter held on to win, securing their fifth straight victory in all competitions and their sixth consecutive win against Udinese.

The loss was Udinese’s second in three games. They remain in 10th place in the league.
