AS Monaco is set to strengthen its roster with the imminent arrivals of Barcelona forward Ansu Fati and former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, sources confirmed on Friday. The Ligue 1 club has also secured England international Eric Dier, marking their third signing of the summer transfer window.

Ansu Fati’s Loan Move
Spanish international Ansu Fati, 22, has passed his medical with Monaco, finalizing a season-long loan from Barcelona. The deal includes an option to buy for €11 million ($12.9 million). Fati, who debuted for Barcelona at 17, has struggled to meet early expectations. Last season, he made 11 appearances for the La Liga champions without scoring. During the 2023/24 season, Fati was on loan at Brighton, where he netted four goals in 27 matches. His transfer will be official on July 1, with a press announcement scheduled for July 3.

Paul Pogba’s Return to Football
Joining Fati, 32-year-old Paul Pogba, the 2018 World Cup winner, is also undergoing a medical with Monaco. Pogba, recently released by Juventus in March amid an 18-month doping suspension, is poised to relaunch his career with the principality club. His signing is expected to be formalized alongside Fati’s on July 1, with the same press event on July 3.

Monaco’s Summer Ambitions
The additions of Fati, Pogba, and Dier signal Monaco’s intent to compete at the top of Ligue 1. Dier, already confirmed, joins from abroad, while Fati and Pogba bring a mix of youth and experience. The trio’s official unveiling is set for July 3, as Monaco gears up for a promising 2025/26 campaign.
