Serie A champions Napoli have officially announced the signing of Belgian midfield maestro Kevin De Bruyne as a free agent, following his departure from Manchester City. The confirmation came via the club’s official website on Thursday, June 12, 2025.
De Bruyne’s move to the Italian giants follows the expiration of his contract with the Premier League side at the end of last season. According to Sky Italia, the highly sought-after midfielder has penned a two-year deal with Napoli, committing him to the club until 2027, with an option for an additional year.
The 33-year-old played his final game for Manchester City coming off the bench during their 2-0 victory against Fulham on the last day of the recent season.
During his illustrious tenure at Manchester City, Kevin De Bruyne made 422 appearances, scoring 108 goals and providing an astonishing 170 assists. He was a pivotal figure in one of English football’s most dominant eras, winning 19 major titles with the Cityzens.
Napoli supporters are now eagerly anticipating the prospect of De Bruyne forming a formidable partnership with fellow Belgian international Romelu Lukaku next season. The club will be looking to leverage his immense talent and experience as they aim to defend their Serie A title and, more significantly, mount a strong challenge for the UEFA Champions League crown.
